"I want to draw something that means something to someone. You know, I want to draw blind faith or a fading summer or… just a moment of clarity. It’s like when you go and you see a really great band live for the first time, you know, and nobody’s saying it but everybody’s thinking it — "We have something to believe in again." I want to draw that feeling. But, I can’t. And if I can’t be great at it then I don’t want to ruin it. It’s too important to me."
I loved Jess’s choice of showing Peyton’s relationship with music. It’s not a mystery that I love Peyton with Lucas and her friendship with Brooke. So I chose to do something different - her art. Because it’s what made her so special to me. The way she portrayed her feelings in her art. The way her whole bedroom was a piece of art.
Peyton is a unique character in my opinion, and her art is what makes her so “different” and extraordinary in my eyes. I could feel what she felt, her art always gave me something.
I also adore how much what she creates it’s important to her. She wants for her art to have a meaning, to give emotion to someone else, otherwise there’s no point.
